One of the many challenges that tourists often deal with is overcrowding, which can lead to feelings of anger or fear. A new study from School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management faculty member Xiang (Robert) Li and Karen Tan, FOX ’22, shows how tourists respond once they begin to experience these feelings.

Thanks to a new grant from the LEGO Foundation, Professor of Psychology Kathy Hirsh-Pasek and her team are working with communities, districts and educators to implement an approach to teaching that is culturally inclusive, builds on what science tells us about how human brains learn and prepares students to succeed in the 21st century.

Part of the National Artificial Intelligence Research Institutes Accelerating Research, Transforming Society and Growing the American Workforce program, Temple University along with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of Florida and Educational Testing Services will have five years and $19.5M to pursue inclusive and intelligent technologies for education. The Temple project will be led by Jamie Payton, professor and chair of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences in the College of Science and Technology.
